Paediatric first aid emergencies
This 3hr course is suitable for Nannies, Au Pairs, Babysitters, Parents and anybody who cares for children and needs a basic course. It is also suitable for those who wish to join the Voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register (OCR). The course is delivered by Paediatric specialists and includes both theory and practical sessions.
The OCR required syllabus covers such topics as:
- Common First Aid Emergencies including : Burns & Scalds, Bleeding, Shock and Fractures
- Eye & Ear injuries
- Emergency Preparedness
- Choking – Child and Baby
- Resuscitation (CPR) – Child and Baby

1 Day Appointed Persons Course
At the Hyde Park Medical Group, we offer a 1 day Appointed Person course that can be adapted to suit your needs and is ideal for those who work in an environment that does not require the need for a full 4 day HSE First Aider Course. The course is run over six hours and includes both theory and practical sessions within a relaxed atmosphere that is designed to promote confidence.

This 2hr course is designed to give information on Anaphylaxis and Anaphylactic Shock. It is a very popular course suitable for Schools, Colleges, Universities, Child Minders, Nurseries and Parents. It provides knowledge regarding the use of auto injectors and builds on confidence to deal with this potential life threatening emergency. Individuals are measured by means of continuous assessment. Anaphylactic Shock Awareness and Management for Health Care Professionals

The course is aimed at Health Visitors, Community Nursing Staff, Cosmetic Practitioners, Dental Practice Staff and General Practice Staff. Additional topics to that of the course above include:
- Management and monitoring of an Anaphylactic patient

Health Care Assistant medical observation

Epilepsy Awareness Course Content:

This course promotes a person centred approach towards the management of seizures and is based on advice received from the National Society for Epilepsy.
We recommend that all employers consider training in moving and handling as part of each new employee's induction.
The course covers how to move objects safely, so that manual handling risks are reduced.

Automated External Defibrillation
Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is well established as one of the important links of the chain of survival providing effective therapy for cardiac arrest.
We offer a comprehensive Automated External Defibrillation (AED) programme based on the necessary theory, backed up with lots of practical sessions. The course is run over 4 hours and is made as informative, yet as enjoyable as possible, thus allowing the students to gain confidence in what is a new and possibly somewhat daunting skill.
All training conforms to current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and is delivered by Resuscitation Council approved instructors.
